It is the highest form of ignorance to think that food safety is only a concern when we are eating from outside. The meals you prepare at home can be a source of food poisoning too. So whether you preparing food at home or organising a party, there are simple hygiene tips that you can follow
1.Cleaning
Keep yourself and your kitchen safe by washing and drying your hands thoroughly before you prepare food.To wash your hands properly, rinse them under running water Always remember to keep worktops, chopping boards, and utensils clean.there are thousands of germs spreading around If they have come in contact with your equipment's, make sure you wash them thoroughly.
Change kitchen towels regularly, bacteria can grow quickly on kitchen towels, cloths, and sponges ,wash cloths and towels in the washing machine after a day of use.Non-washable sponges can be disinfected in a bleach and water solution.
And make sure you done these all steps properly and regularly because hygiene dose not come in one day cleaning.
2.Cooking
Ensure that your food is steaming hot in the middle – there should be steam coming out. Remember reheat food only once.
While reheating, ensure your food is cooked completely. While reheating, ensure your food is cooked completely
Cooking food at the right temperature will ensure any harmful bacteria are killed. Check that food's steaming hot throughout before you eat it.
Wash fruit and vegetables under cold running water before you eat them. This helps remove visible dirt and germs that may be on the surface. Peeling or cooking fruit and vegetables can also remove these germs.
3. Storage
When you're finished preparing a meal, clean the areas where you were working to kill bacteria that may have been present on the raw food.
Clean all cutting tools and boards in hot soapy water. Spray down counters, sinks, and other surfaces with a disinfecting kitchen spray.
Wipe the areas with a clean cloth.
Temperatures below this level will help maintain the freshness of your food; especially since bacteria thrives in temperatures between 41 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit
